Treasure Trove's Location 


Treasure Trove is situated in Davenport, a small town southwest of Orlando, near Lake Tohopekaliga and Lake Marion.  It is centrally located and is surrounded by rolling hills and land that was once used for citrus growth.  Treasure Trove's tranquil setting has all the beauty and  privacy for a relaxing holiday yet within easy reach of the excitement and nightlife of nearby Orlando and Disney.  This location makes it  the perfect spot to base your Florida vacation.


Attractions

Disney World is under 10 minutes drive from Treasure Trove and Epcot, Universal Studios, Sea World of Orlando, Wet & Wild, Gatorland, are just a little further away.

Treasure Trove's central location offers options of driving to Beaches both east and west. Tampa and the Gulf Coast is about one hours drive whilst the renowned Cocoa Beach is slightly less the other way.

Lake Tohopekaliga or Lake Toho,
as it is known by most Floridians, offers fishing, boating, camping, hiking and other outdoor activities.

Golf courses are in abundance.  Champions Gate, designed by Greg Norman is just 2 minutes away, Polo Park 5 minutes, plus many more a few minutes further. Whilst for Tennis lovers, Celebration, the Davis Cup venue is 10 minutes away.

For air or World War II enthusiasts, there are plenty of museums and attractions to visit close by, the nearest being Kissimmee.

The Davenport area has a wide range of shops, restaurants and supermarkets and is ideal for eating out. Ample shopping malls are nearby for designer clothes, gifts and other many other treats or hop on the I-4, just 2 minutes from Treasure Trove, to go further afield.


Disney Parks

The array of attractions at the Disney Theme Parks is unbelievable and caters for all ages. 
The main Disney attractions are Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Epcot, Magic Kingdom, MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom and the Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon Water Parks .

New attractions are added all the time to make return visits a must - the most recent additions being Space and Soarin at Epcot, Philharmagic at the Magic Kingdom. 

Also MGM Studios have recently opened a new stunt show with cars undertaking death-defying feats in a new purpose built arena. If thats not enough, Animal Kingdom has open a new exciting roller coaster ride.

As well as Disney, there are the two Universal Theme Parks; the Universal Studios Park where you ride the movies and Islands of Adventure with its cartoon and superhero theme. The Universal Theme Park has recently opened its newest ride, Revenge of the Mummy The Ride. This is a roller coaster for the ultimate adventure, so hang on and be prepared to experience fireballs, scarab beetles and an army of warrior mummies. Spiderman at Islands of Adventure is always popular plus Shrek at Universal.

Sea World is a more relaxing day where you can marvel at Dolphin and Killer Whale Shows as well as seeing many marine animals, including the Manatee. In addition there are thrill rides like the Kraken for the more adventurous.

Biking, Golf, Tennis, Fitness Center, Gym, Miniature Golf, Amusement Parks, Fishing, Horseback Riding, Shopping, Restaurants, Cinemas, Sightseeing, Swimming, Boating and Jet Skiing. 

There is much more to a holiday at Treasure Trove than Disney. Adventure rides on an Airboat at Boggy Creek Airboats, offers a chance skim across the lake with the cool wind in your face or perhaps stopping to look at alligators, turtles and other wildlife in the water or in the trees above, the eagle nests.


A visit to Gatorland is a change to see the home of Florida's oldest inhabitants, the alligator, and view them in their natural habitat. Enjoy the many shows including the world famous Jumperoo where meat is suspended over the alligator's heads and alligators jump into the air to snatch the food from a pole. In addition to the alligators there is a display of reptiles from all over the world and the poisonous snake shows are a must to see. The new Railroad train can be used to take as many rides as you want around the park and makes a great day out for all the family, where alligator meat can be tasted at the barbecue shack.

Cypress Gardens offers a wide range of activities for everyone. See the Southern Belles in their beautiful dresses at the historic botanical gardens or the world famous water-skiing or visit a turn of the century working village and see Florida's native animals. The park offers a selection of 39 rides, including children's favourites and heart-pounding thrill rides, including 4 coasters and the worlds tallest spinning rapids ride.

Why not visit Kelly Park/Rock Springs in Apopka and spend a hot summer day with family and friends tubing and swimming at Kelly Rock Springs, a free-flowing natural spring. It is fun for kids and adults to ride down the stream in an inner tube or on a float or jump into the headwaters and bob and splash your way downstream for about a mile. Exits from the river along the way and an excellently maintained network of boardwalks (with flooring designed to protect the barefooted) let you carry your tube back to the beginning for another go. At the middle of the tubing course, the stream blossoms into a series of lagoons and pools that form the centrepiece of the park. This is the place to come for a cooling swim or join the sunbathers thronging the shores and islands. 

Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge is a bird watcher's paradise observe herons, grebe, ibis, anhingas and many other birds.

For walkers, there are also two memorable trails - the Cypress Swamp Boardwalk and the Marsh Trail.
